Puppies on Thursday!!

Today I was greeted at my site by... you guessed it, Puppies! Three energetic puppies we deemed as dot, solid and stripe kept me literally on my toes because they kept jumping on me to play with them. I walked four dogs today and all of them were more obedient this time than previous times. Working with one dog, Brenna, was different for me. She was afraid of different textures, meaning she was afraid of moving from grass to concrete and vice versa, it was very difficult to take her on a walk and it broke my heart to see her be so afraid of humans as well different textures. I hope in the coming weeks i'll be able to help her out of her fear and fully enjoy the lovely yard behind the building. 

Day 3 at Site 10/20/11

Now that I'm more familiar with my site everything seems much easier. The people are extremely nice and the dogs are sweethearts. Many of them were adopted last week! :) (Always a good thing) I only worked with the dogs today, took them on walks, made them food and just cleaned in general. The best part of today were the ten minutes I spent in Link's kennel, just petting him. I've fallen in love with Link, he's an old boy, but he's precious and a major attention seeker! He brightens my Thursday every week. :) My site supervisor, unfortunately does not come in on Thursday's, but the staff there are amazing. Especially Lisa and Laura who are always energetic and upbeat. They're both two mini hurricanes getting all the work done and I just love being around them. Too bad there's no Horizons site work next week.
